Baby Changes Everything….Introducing A New Shade of Me

Why hello!

Long time no see…time truly flies when life brings about a big change, and this has to be one of the biggest changes I’ve ever faced.

If you haven’t heard (which wouldn’t be surprising as I went pretty m.i.a. across the blog and social media) – we officially welcomed a new member to our family!

Meet Mason Fox, born into this world on October 7, 2017 with a head full of hair and the chubbiest of cheeks.

To say his arrival turned our world upside down would be an understatement.

It’s true what they say – you can never be truly prepared for the experience of caring for a tiny human – especially for the first time.

As with most big things in life – it’s a learning process.

And there have been many days where Mason has schooled the sh*t out of me.

But we’ve gotten to know each other, bit by bit. And as we ring in his 1 month of life on the outside my confidence in understanding his needs/wants has grown.

I’m actually starting to feel like a proper mum 1-2 hours out of the day 😅

Of course I say that and tomorrow he could totally throw me for a loop – you think you know me?! You know NOTHING {….Jon Snow….}.

But in all honesty, Mason has been a super chill baby so far.

As long as he’s full of milk and has had good sleeps, he’s perfectly content to just sit around with mommy and daddy.

You can’t really ask for more at this stage…..actually maybe I’d ask for a few more hours of sleep at night, but we’ll get there.

Plus it’s hard to be annoyed at this face, even at 3 o’clock in the morning.

It shocks me that it’s already been a month since he came into our lives.

As cliche as it is to say – it feels like only yesterday.

I have several moments throughout each day where my mind is consistently blown by the fact that he’s here.

This is a tiny human. And not only that, he’s my tiny human.

I still distinctly remember seeing his little scrunched up face for the first time (I don’t know if that’s something I’ll ever forget) and it’s amazing how much it’s changed in just a month.

Again, cliche – but they really do grow up so fast!

While I’m looking forward to him becoming more and more interactive with us, I can’t deny that I’m really enjoying this time where he’s just around to cuddle.

His 1 month celebration is also my marker for easing back into other bits of my life – namely this blog.

As I get more confident in my mum duties and we start building a routine I’m planning to update this space more and more.

I’ve got loads of ideas (from style and travel posts, to the occasional mommy post) and new things I want to try (i.e. more vlogging!).

It’s crazy how Mason has made me experience both the deepest levels of exhaustion as well as the highest levels of inspiration at the same time.

I’m really looking forward to sharing more of our new life and experiences together.

Welcome to a new shade of me – mommyhood.

I guarantee it’s going to be a wild ride.
