Hey beautiful people!

So as my previous life update mentioned – the end of pregnancy is still taking it’s toll {currently 4 weeks left and counting!}, and the thought of putting together a cute outfit and shooting photos is simply not high on my priorities list.

Go figure.

But that doesn’t mean I haven’t been thinking of you.

In fact, I’ve been getting super pumped as we dive deeper into September because that means the best time of the year (IMO) for fashion is upon us.

Yes. I’m talking about Fall, baby!

Call it cliche, but if you’ve been with me since way back when you’ll know I’ve always been all about fall fashion.

There’s just so much more opportunity to play with your style this time of year.

Don’t get me wrong I love a pretty 80 degree day in the summer {especially if I’m near a beach}.

But I literally LIVE for 50 degree weather with the sun shining and a crisp breeze. Which I learned last year that London is absolute perfection for.

As I type this, those are the exact weather conditions today. And it energized me so much that I thought it was high time I did some fall prep.

Specifically – what I’m looking forward to wearing this season.

Babyceetee will be here, which will be a relief as I no longer will have to take a growing belly into consideration when I shop. #win

I’ve been so maternity wear focused, that it feels good to take a look at what’s new and coming outside of the maternity sphere.

And I’m telling y’all – the excitement level I have is like WOO!

So without further ado, let’s talk about what I’m looking forward to this fall with some must-have closet additions.

Closet Additions for Fall 2017

Off-The-Shoulder Knits

Off-the-shoulder tops have been trending all summer and look like they’ll continue to do so in a cozier version of knitwear. Maybe not so practical once we hit colder temps, but I think an off-the-shoulder sweater is a simple way to dress up a pair of denim while still keeping it casual. Or even a chic alternative for date night when paired with a feminine midi skirt.

Raw edge, Frayed, and Textured Denim

I’ll be first to admit I’ve never been much of a denim gal. But this season I’m discovering a renewed interest in the jean scene {yeah, I rhymed, it’s cool πŸ’πŸΎ}. Say so long to your basic skinnies and hello to more texture in your denim by ways of raw and frayed edges or patchwork and embroidery. It’s all about the details! And textured denim is another way to add a little extra to what could be a more simple look. i.e. white tee + leather jacket + frayed denim + ankle boots = casual with a personal flair πŸ’ƒπŸΎ

Red Outerwear

Deemed Pantone’s fall color of the year – red {or grenadine if you want to get specific} has always been a powerful, evocative, and dynamic color. And what better way to capture the spirit of red this season than with a bold piece of outerwear. While I’m partial to the wool peacoat variety, there are also some stellar leather jackets and puffer coats to consider as well.

Neutrals for Days

Always a fall favorite, and a great way to soften the intensity of red this season, neutrals are a closet staple. From soft greys to creamy whites, you can’t go wrong with one or two {or more!} neutrals in your fall arsenal.

Artful Embroidery

Another trend of the summer that I love seeing transition into fall wear. They’re statement items, so only one, maybe two, will do you just right. I’m personally all about an embroidered jacket or pair of ankle boots to add some pizzazz to my wardrobe.

Loafer Slides

This shoe style has been out for awhile now, and I’ll admit I was hesitate to jump on the loafer slide bandwagon. It’s the working city girl’s go-to shoe – I see them EVERYWHERE here in London. And I guess it goes to show – the more you see something, the more normal it starts to become, and at times the more you start to like it. And I’ve started to like these – a lot. I’m dubbing them as my “cool mom shoes“. As in, I may be in leggings and an old sweater, but check out my “cool mom shoes” – #winningΒ πŸ˜‚

Autumn Florals

Finally, I don’t believe my fall wardrobe would be complete without some autumn florals. Specifically in a midi or maxi dress style {loving this one from the product collage above}. They’re perfect in classic fall colors like burnt orange, forest green, Β or mustard yellow. And are a great option for the office, the weekend, daytime, nighttime, or even a casual fall wedding.

Now I’d love to hear your thoughts.

Would you add any of the above items to your wardrobe this fall?
